I
was visited today by a young lady, who has been in contact with me for quite some time to plan her visit. She came to see my hedgehogs, notebook in hand; not to purchase, but to see how they were set up and collect
information. She came with a list of questions and upon talking with her I realized
that she had done some extensive research already. I was so impressed that I
wanted to share this.
This
young lady, who is in her teens and accompanied by her father, asked more responsible questions than about 80% of
the adults that contact us. She realizes that owning a hedgehog is a responsibility
that requires research and planning and is not something you do on a whim. She
asked questions about vet visits, proper nutrition, housing requirements, proper handling, grooming, temperament and more.
It
is my hope that this young person will inspire others to research, ask questions and plan before rushing out to purchase a
